Our commitment to a circular economy.

Understanding the Circular Economy.

Shifting from Linear to Circular

Unlike our usual way of taking, making, and wasting (linear), the circular economy aims to keep things going in a loop. It's about regenerative growth, where success is measured by benefits to both society and the environment.

Roots in Nature's Wisdom

The circular economy learns from nature, where everything has a purpose. It's not a new idea but one inspired by ancient wisdom, emphasizing cycles and balance. The goal is simple: eliminate waste and improve natural systems.

Steps Toward Circular Living

Practical steps involve smart sourcing and less waste. Food brands choose local farms, cobblers make durable shoes, and shipping companies invest in eco-friendly logistics. Small businesses can join by auditing sourcing and waste processes.

Circular vs Linear economy: a different way of thinking

Take-Make-Waste

In our regular system, we use things and throw them away. It's a 'take-make-waste' approach—a straight line from creation to disposal.

Cradle to Cradle

The circular economy keeps things in a loop. When you're done with something, it goes back into the system to be reused. It's about making, using, and returning in a continuous cycle.

Ownership vs Use

In the circular economy, you don't necessarily own things; you use them as needed. When it's old or broken, you trade it for a new one that's refurbished or made from recycled parts. It's not about selling more products; it's about providing great service, enhancing user experience, and reusing materials efficiently.

Making a difference, long term.

Zero's Print Media products can be recycled into fence posts and used throughout New Zealand's all-important agriculture industry. To make a difference and divert your advertising waste from landfill, simply choose Zero Media for your display graphics and we'll take care of the rest. Once your display product needs to be replaced, simply return to us and we will ensure it gets processed by Zero's Waste Recycling Program .

From 2024, our Specialists will always take the time to advise you of the costs for traditional media and Zero media, enabling you to make a choice based on your personal and brand values. In many instances, the Zero Media option is only slightly more expensive than the traditional choice. But we'll let you decide because we know that price is an essential factor for many.

The circular economy is about simplicity—making, using, and returning in a continuous loop. It's a smart, sustainable way that benefits everyone and everything. We're joining New Zealand companies that are already showing us how it's done, and as we understand and adopt these principles, we pave the way for a better future.
